MAINA: Rebello Pandal, Maina defeated Sao Jose de Areal Boys, Nessai 8-7 via the tie-breaker and moved into the semi-final of 16th Rebello Pandal football tournament at St. Rita church ground, Maina, on Monday.
Edwin Sequeira, who played a stellar role upfront, netted two quick goals in the 9th and 15th minutes. Just before the final whistle, Vasudev of Areal Boys reduced the margin.
In the second half, Agnelo D’Costa of Rebello Pandal made it 3-1 in the 50th minute. However, Vasudev of Areal further reduced the margin in the 60th minute and later, Santario if Areal Boys netted the equaliser.
Alister of St Jose de Areal received the man-of-the match award from Melisha.
