PANJIM: A record number of 71 entries were confirmed for the first supercross race organised by Fast Track Association of Goa under the aegis of FMSCI at Navelim track (behind Navelim church) on Sunday from 2.30 p.m.
India’s sensational rider, National champ C S Santosh of TVS fame will exhibit some dare-devilish stunts while a musical programme by local Goan artistes will provide entertainment at the adrenalin pumping event, the first of this year.

From the practice sessions, today, one could expect incredible race action as the riders compete in their supercross body armour. “We are psyched up to go racing,” voiced the contestants. “The practice laps around the track were simply amazing. We are now set to line up at the starting gate tomorrow and when it drops, it will time for the real test. There will be that defeaning noise as the riders test their stamina, strength, endurance and courage. It will be a high-performance race on a man-made dirt track consisting of steep jumps and obstacles,” pointed out the racers.
Pune’s Pinkesh Thakkar, Shymlal Pardesi, Lokesh Bonsle, Bashir Ahmed from Bangalore, Omran Patan, K Yaswi as well as the bunch of Goan riders including Alan Sequeira and Javed Shaikh and several others are simply raring to go.
The Foreign Class will have eight riders, Local Class 14, Group C 2 and 4-stroke 18, Indian Expert Group B 21 and Gropup C 4-stroke 5.
