Rectifying mistakes will be our top priority: Sana

panjim: FC Goa had an impressive pre-season and with barely days for the campaign to kick-off, defender Chinglensana Singh stresses up rectifying past mistakes to have a better season.
“This year we are looking forward to minimise the mistakes which will give us better results and eventually win us games and give us good results,” said Sana at the sidelines of a training session at Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
Last season, FC Goa were outstanding in their attack, however, plenty of defensive errors cost them their run towards their first major title.
“We are working hard on it and we are rectifying all our mistakes we made last season –the silly goals we conceded and to do better this season,” Sana added.
This season, Coach Lobera has offloaded as well as replaced many faces, however, the team looks to be gelling up well.
“Team is shaping up well under coach Lobera. The idea and the way we play, the players have adapted to it very soon and most of us have played last year under him which is great,” the defender added, who made 10 appearances for FC Goa last season.
However, one such player whom FC Goa will definitely miss is Manuel Lanzarote who combined well with Coro for their attacking partnership which gave nightmares to the opposition.
“We will miss Lanzarote but to be honest we have players coming in like Palance and others who are good and have great ideas. We will miss him but at the same time we won’t miss him because we are a team which plays like a team,” Sana added.
“All the players have adjusted to the coach’s idea and philosophy and they have learnt it really quick and the players also help each other and there is no ego clash in the team which is good and the unity and the atmosphere in the team is also very good,” he added.
Speaking about the development squad players making it to the senior team, Sana commented, “Interesting! I’m very happy. To see them coming up from the development team is really good and these are the kind of players who will come up and do well for the team. They are young and they need this kind of promotion as well”.
“New players – Princeton, Gama — have been doing good as well. It’s exciting to see the young players coming up.”
Sana said that the FC Goa fans will witness entertainment and good football.
“This year we will try and get good results. We will work hard to get the cup, that is what I want to fans to expect and I want them to come at the Stadium in large number and cheer us,” he concluded.
