FATORDA: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna blanked Rosary High School, Navelim 3-0 to move into the final of the Subroto Mukherjee Salcete Taluka U-17 girls football tournament organised by DSYA, at PJN Stadium, on Thursday.
Regina Martyrum HS should have netted the first goal of the match through Daisy Crasto but the rival defender Melifa Pereira foiled the formers move.
At the other end, Rosary HS’s Jolinda Ferrao sent in a long ball to Muskan Kambli but the latter was tackled by Myra D’Silva in the 9th minute.
Regina Martyrum HS found the breakthrough in the 27th minute as Yukthi Patil shot past the rival keeper to make it 1-0.
Daisy Crasto and Suveda Kokate netted a goal each in the 35th and 55th minutes respectively to make it 3-0 for the winners.
In another match, Rosary HSS, Navelim thumped Our Lady of Carmel High School, Curtorim 6-0.
Cia Almeida netted a hat-trick while Chelsea Crasto, Tency Pinto and Joyvi Fernandes scored a goal each for Rosary to move into the final.
