CHINCHINIM: Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna downed St Joseph CHS School, Aquem 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th St Joseph U-17 inter-school football tournament organised by St Mary’s school complex, at Our Lady of Hope church ground, Chinchinim, on Monday.
Jesver Crasto netted a brace for Regina Martyrum HS.
In another match, Our Lady Rosary HS, Fatorda defeated Infant Jesus HS, Colva 5-2 to move into the quarter-finals.
Velijo Pinto and Jordan Azawado netted a goal each, while Maxwell Furtado netted a hat-trick for Rosary and for Infant Jesus Sujeet Kunar and Sagar Rathod netted a goal each.
Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa, parish priest of Our Lady of Hope Church, Chinchinim declared the tournament open in the presence of Mario Vales, PE teacher of St Mary’s HS, Chinchinim and other dignitaries.
