SANVORCOTTO CUNCOLIM: Regina Martyrum HS edged past Mae Dos Pobres HS, Nuvem 2-1 in the Salcete Taluka U-17 Subroto Mukherjee boys football tournament, at Cuncolim school ground on Friday.
Sadik scored a brace for the winners while Maven Da Costa reduced the margin for Mae Dos Pobres HS.
In the second match, Vidya Vikas Academy scored a 5-4 via tie-breaker win over RMS HSS of Margao after the match ended at 1-1 draw. OL of Rosary HS Fatorda also move ahead in the tournament with a 4-2 win over Crescent HS. Malcom Pereira scored a hat-trick while Clamford Almeida added another.
Both the goals for Crescent HS were scored by Mohammad Saad Aga. A goal by Sohail Shaikh was enough for Mount Mary HS to win over Bethany Convent HS of Sao Jose de Areal.
