VASCO: Regina Mundi High School defeated St Andrew’s Institute 2-1 in the final of U-14 Mormugao taluka inter-school football tournament organised by Vaddem Sports Club, Vasco to mark the Goa Liberation Day, at Regina Mundi High School ground, Chicalim.
Wesley D’Sa opened the scoring for St Andrew’s Institute. Manas Patil of Regina Mundi High School equalised but later Regina Mundi High School got the winning goal through the boots of Keegan D’Souza.
The winners and runners-up were awarded Rs 8,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively plus trophies.
Chief guest was Fr Gabriel Coutinho, parish priest of St Andrew’s Church while guest of honour were Dr Pedro Bravo Da Costa, Premanand Babu Nanoskar and Bernardino Velho.
Fr Gabriel in his address lauded the club for the good work. Rosario Pereira, president of the club, thanked the participating schools and the crowded gathered.
