MAPUSA: Remedious Boys scored a thumping 6-0 win over SO XI Orda in the Silver Sands Candolim Inter-Ward football tournament, organised by United Boys of Camotim, played at Candolim ground, on Monday.
The winners got into the offensive right from the word go, where in the early minutes, Melwyn Lobo on weaving his way past the Orda defenders unleashed a powerful shot which hit the horizontal bar and went out of play.
In the 10th minute, Melwyn made up for the lapse when he beautifully curled in his corner-kick to the far corner of the Orda nets, 1-0.
Remedious led 1-0 at the break.
Changing ends the Remedious colts were all over the rival territory and doubled the lead in the 40th minute when Kleiber’s right footer was too hot for the Orda keeper to handle and the ball rolled towards Malcolm Silveira who tapped the ball home, 2-0.
The goal dashed the hopes of SO XI Orda as their players were seen struggling on the pitch to match their opponents level.
Two minutes later Melwyn scored his brace from close range, 3-0.
Thereon there was no stopping for Remedious who fired in goals at regular intervals through Melwyn, Raphael and Daphen.
Orda tried their level best to score a consolation but their strikers couldn’t convert their chances that came their way.
