PANJIM: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao scored a resounding 5-0 win over Government High School, Vidyanagar, in the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) U-17 football tournament, played at Ambelim ground, on Monday.
With a good show of passes Holy Spirit opened the scoring in the 5th minute through Richard Carvalho who cut through the defence and struck a fierce shot which the Vidyanagar custodian had no chance in keeping it out. The Margao side increased their lead through Pushkar Prabhu who scored with a brilliant strike off an assist by Bradley Carvalho.
In the 15th minute a rebound fell for Macenzie Fernandes who made no mistake in sending the ball home, 3-0. The second half saw the Margao School scoring in the very first minute of play as Richard slotted the ball into the empty net. Two minutes later Richard completed his hat-trick.
