While Raia FC humbled Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna SC 5-1, at Artificial turf ground, Fatorda, Sporting Clube beat Goa Velha SC 2-0.
Reyes Cruz, a product of Our Lady of Snows High School, Raia was the cynosure of all eyes as he scored four goals and was instrumental in the team’s fifth.
Both teams had equal ball possession in the first twenty minutes with Cashel Fernandes on the fore front for Rossman and Reyes Cruz for Raia FC.
It was Cashel Fernandes who drew the first blood for Rossman Cruz in the 18th minute when he smashed a powerful shot off Ajay Dholey’s cross.
Down by a goal, Raia FC levelled terms in the very next minute through Reyes Cruz. Reyes dribbled past Rossman’s Climax Coutinho, Preniel Rego before unleashing his strike to make it 1-1.
From there on it was one sided affair. Reyes scored two more goals in 27th and 43rd minute, thus completing his hat-trick.
Crossing over, Raia FC scored their fourth through Vasant Manjhi.
Reyes Cruz scored the fifth goal for Raia FC in the 46th minute.
At Batim ground, Sporting Clube beat Goa Velha SC 2-0.
Nash Camilo and Rio Fernandes scored for Sporting Clube de Goa.
Sporting were on the offensive right from the start as their forwards dominated the Goa Velha backline with their height advantage.
After a few close attempts, Sporting finally drew the first blood in the 26th minute when Nash Camilo caught on to a back pass from Joseph to slot home the first goal.
In the second half, Sporting were back in business right at the start when Rio Fernandes got hold of a good pass from Nash to take a clean strike from the edge of the box to put give Sporting a comfortable 2-0 lead.
At Navelim ground, CRSC Navelim blanked Union of Chinchinim villagers 3-0.
Fredlon Gomes scored a brace for CRSC Navelim in the 14th and 59th minute, while Amaan Kamble scored a goal for Navelim in the 51st minute.
In another match, Don Bosco Oratory beat Cabesa S C 3-1.
Shawn Vessaoker, Jason Rego and Dion Nunes got on the score sheet for Don Bosco, while Pratmesh Gawas pulled one back for Cabesa.
