Ritviz, Aditee clinch titles

The duo emerged top in open and girl’s categories respectively in all-Goa U-17 State chess selection tournament

PANJIM: Ritviz Parab and Aditee Prabhugaonkar emerged champs in the open and girl’s categories respectively in all-Goa under-17 State chess selection tournament organized by Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA), at Wagle High School, Mangeshi, Ponda, on Monday. 
Ameya Audi was the runner-up and Kapil Pause settled for the third place in the open category.
Shane Braganca, Aishwarya Thorat, Rajas Chari, Aston Dias, Gaurav Madkaikar, Leon Mendonca, Anirudh Parsekar, Ian Rodrigues and Suyan Belurkar came fourth to the 12th place respectively.
Swera Braganca secured the runners-up spot while Sakshi Gaonkar secured the third position in the girls category.
Lisel Braganca, Urvi Bandekar, Gaayathri S, Alaya  D’Cruz and Sanvi Gaonkar emerged fourth to eighth positions respectively.
Vinay Tendulkar, president of Goa Chess Association (GCA) was the chief guest and distributed the prizes in the presence of Sagar Sakordekar president, PTCA; Amogh Namshiker, secretary, PTCA; Damodar  Naik, sarpanch of VPK panchayat; Satyawan Harmalkar, joint secretary of GCA; Anand  Kurtiker, tournament co-ordinator and chief arbiter  Sanjay  Kavlekar.
