PANJIM: Ritviz Parab of Salcete Taluka along with Niraj Saripalli, Anirudh Bhat, Suhas Asnodkar, Devesh Naik and 10 others have taken joint lead with 3 points from 3 rounds in the late Omparakash, Premalata All Goa open FIDE rapid rating tournament 2020, organised by Salcete Taluka Chess association under the aegis of Goa Chess Asscociation at the BPS Club AC Hall Margao.
In the 3rd round, top seed Ritviz Parab defeated Prirthviraj Katkar, Niraj got the better of Jugan Salees Rodrigues, Anirudh Bhat beat Sanket Shamkuwar and Suhas Asnodkar beat Rishubh Nipanikar to be in the lead.
The tournament is conducted under the Swiss league system with 9 rounds. Altogether 170 players from different parts of the State participated in the tournament out of which 72 are FIDE rated players.
Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by Audhut Kare (Treasurer BPS Sports Club), Agarwal Director Prakash corrugated products, Ashesh Keni (President STCA), Damodar Zambaulikar (Secretary STCA).
