PANJIM: Earning his third International Master norm in a short span of six months, Geno Brand Ambassador and three-time State champion, Rohan Ahuja qualified for the International Master title in style with an astounding performance at the PSC Pure Gold International Chess Challenge in the Philippines, recently.
Rohan remained unbeaten in the grueling 10 round tournament where he played against five GMs and five IMs from Russia, Vietnam, China, Philippines, Indonesia and India.
Rohan was the top finisher amongst all Indian players that included GM Abhijeet Gupta, GM Deepan Chakravarty and GM Aravindh Chidambaram. He also finished ahead of several much higher rated Grandmasters from Russia, Ukraine and Philippines.
