PANJIM: Roque Dias, Regional Director of SAI, Delhi was impressed with the facilities available at the Sesa Academy, Sirsaim and held discussion with its management on holding national camps at the academy, which he felt would help the Sesa trainees as well as Indian national teams.
Roque disclosed that the same is being done with the prestigious Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad (AP), wherein ranked players from Indonesia have been roped in as sparring partners for the badminton inmates for better sparring competition. The Sesa officials including Arjuna Awardee Brahmanand Sankhwalkar appreciated Roque’s offer and promised to take it up with the Board.
Roque was apprised of the facilities available for the footballers including nutrition and academics of the inmates. He was then taken on a tour of the academy, the playing turf, gym and scientific backup and later was introduced to the training faculty including head coach Clifford Chukwama.
Cyril Rodrigues, manager of Sesa Football Academy and Lovino Goes (MS) SAI were also present.
