NAVELIM: Rosary High School, Navelim defeated Chubby Cheeks High School, Porvorim 6-4 to win the U-17 State Handball Champions for girls, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, recently.
Roshani Chavan scored three goals. Diksha Ahirwar netted a brace while Messina Luis was the other goal scorer for the winning team.
Roshani Chavan has scored 25 goals throughout the tournament.
Kevin Fernandes PE Teacher of Rosary High School expressed his happiness in winning the title and said, “I am very happy and proud of the team for winning the championship. Earlier in 2017 our school team emerged runners-up in the U-14 girls category and now after three years the same team went on to win the State championship,”
Kevin also thanked the management of the school for the support and valuable co-operation. He also thanked Jane D’Silva SAG Handball coach for training this team.
