MAJORDA: Rossman Cruz Nagoa-Verna squeezed past Parish Youth Nuvem 7-6 via the tie-breaker and enter the semi-finals of the 20th Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial Football Tournament, played at Musson ground, Majorda on Monday.
Rossman Cruz tested the rival goal early in the 12th minute but Savio Fernandes’ power-packed narrowly missed the mark.
At the other end, Nuvem’s Niclau Colaco long range effort hit the side netting.
In the second session, 46th minute Parish Youth Nuvem’s striker Jebinton Fetnandes missed the target from his long range shot. Later in the 55th minute, Jebinton Fernandes scored for Nuvem. In the 60th minute, Clifton Rebello equalized for Rossman.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Rossman Cruz SC converted through Eusebio Fernandes, Christo D’Mello, Hilton Fernandes, Noel D’Silva, Savio Fernandes and Manuel Moniz, while PY Nuvem found the net through Cedar Colaco, Bevan Colaco, Denikson Dias, Jebinton Fetnandes and Max Colaco.
