RAIA: Rossman Cruz Nagoa, Verna defeated Fr Agnel YC Paroda 4- 1 to move into the semi-finals of the Arlem Trophy played at Raia ground, on Thursday.
Both the teams started the match on an attacking note. It was Verna’s striker Razor Braganza who took control of the ball from Samson Menezes the dribbled past rival defenders and shot from the top of the box but Fr Agnel’s keeper Lester Menezes was equal to the task in the 7th minute.
At the other end, Fr Agnel should have found the ball at the back of Rossman Cruz nets but Roston Costa’s shot was saved by the keeper in the 12th minute.
Rossman Cruz netted the first goal of the match in the 35th minute through Necissidade Moniz who received a perfect pass from Noel D’Silva.
In the second half, Rossman Cruz doubled the lead through Remedious Vaz with a perfect volley in the 48th minute.
Later, Joy Ferrao netted the goal with a penalty kick to make it 3-0 for Rossman Cruz in the 50th minute.
Two minutes later, substitute Savio Fernandes headed home for Rossman Cruz to make it 4-0 in the 53rd minute.
In the 60th minute, Joel Furtado scored the consolation goal for Fr Agnel.
