BETALBATIM: Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna beat Varca SC with a comfortable 3-0 margin to enter the quarter-finals of the Late Joao Francisco and Luiza Pacheco Cup organised by Betalbatim SC, at the Betalbatim panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Rossman Cruz were the dominant side in the game but at the start of the game, both teams were playing at an even tempo.
Beneston Barretto was the livewire throughout the game and Rossman Cruz stretched the Varca defence with their pacy wingers.
The second half was an all Rossman Cruz show and they took the game away from Varca SC.
In the 44th minute, Clive Coelho made it 1-0 with a curling finish past Shaikh as the defenders were caught napping.
Savio Fernandes used his pace and power to run past the Varca defenders and smashed the ball into the far corner as they led 2-0 in the 45th minute.
As Varca kept searching for a goal, Rossman Cruz struck again and in the 60th minute, as Varca’s defence was unlocked again, this time by Beneston Barretto to cap off a brilliant victory.
