PANJIM: Rossman Cruz, Nagoa rallied to beat Sporting Club of Davorlim 2-1 to enter the semi-finals of 1st Balaji Ambe memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Cuncolim Union at Cuncolim ground, Monday. Davorlim led 1-0 at half time.
Davorlim forged ahead in the 24th minute through Meclon Colaco off a pass from Petson Fernandes.
In the second half, Rossman changed their strategy and started attacking the rival citadel. Their efforts materialized in the 36th minute when Richard Dias’ shot deflected off a Davorlim defender and bulged the nylons.
Richard scored the match-winner in the 45th minute when his 15-yard shot beat the rival goalkeeper comprehensively. Davorlim tried their level best to restore parity but Peston, Venson Figueiredo and Meclon Colaco failed to get past Rossman goalkeeper Franky Abranches.
