PANJIM: Ruchi Kirtani and Samaira Soares entered the final of the cadet girls category of the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Table Tennis Championship, at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in Miramar.
In the semi-finals, Ruchi Kirtani defeated Ridhima Naik 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-7). In the second semi finals Samaira Soares defeated Riya Gopi scoring 3-1 (11-4, 11-9, 6-11, 13-11).
The men’s category witnessed some of the most exciting matches being played out with Dheeraj Rai, Shantesh Mapsekar, Diljeet Velingkar and Manish Yadav making their way to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, Dheeraj Rai defeated Shantesh Mapsekar in straight sets 4-1 (11-3, 11-5, 11-6, 9-11, 13-11) while Diljeet Velingkar defeated Manish Yadav 4-0 (11-9, 11-3, 11-9, 11-7) to set up the final clash against Dheeraj Rai.
