RUMBA-CURTORIM: Rumba United blanked Sporting Club of Virabhatt 3-0 to move into the semi-finals of the inter-ward football tournament, organised by Rumba United, at St Alex Church, ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
In the first 15 minutes, both the teams got equal chances to score but it was Rumba’s Honorato Mascarenhas who with his opening goal in the 16th minute that broke the deadlock.
In the second half, Valancio Mascarenhas scored the second goal for Rumba in the 41st minute while Nelson Paes made it 3-0 in the dying minutes of the match.
Rumba keeper Jackson Sequeira was the hero under the bar and saved many shots of Virabhat on several occasions.
