S Korean team to play in Mapusa on Sunday

PANJIM: South Korea’s Hallelujah FC and Archbishop’s Goa XI sportingly agreed for a repeat electrifying show to oblige North Goa fans on Sunday, January 29 at Duler Stadium,. Mapusa at 4 p.m.

It will be a charity exhibition football match, the proceeds going to Saligao Seminary.

The organisation will be headed by GFA vice-president Lavinio Rebello, with all Bardez and Ilhas GFA Executive Committee members being part of the same. GFA vice-president Elvis Gomes, who played a key role alongwith Fr Jose Antonio Costa, Savio Messias, Lawrence Gomes  in the highly successful organisation of the match in Vasco on Sunday, will be the chief coordinator under the auspices of Archdiocese of Goa and Sports Squad for Christ.

The North Goa fans felt that they should not be deprived of an opportunity to watch the highly skilled South Korean team playing against a dour defensive Goa XI who will only benefit from the exposure.

Elvis told Herald that several football fans from North Goa and especially Bardez had made a plea that they should not be deprived of a chance to watch the South Koreans who delighted the large Sunday crowd in Vasco.
