MAPUSA: A two-goal blitz by Sadabh Sheikh enabled PVC Parra to register a 2-0 win over YSC Colvale in Candolim Panchayat Cup football tournament at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim on Monday.
Parra’s star striker Sadabh Sheikh scored a goal in each session.
Colvale did try to make some inroads inside the Parra’s defense but failed to get past the last line of solid Parra’s defenders.
Sadabh Sheikh received the man-of-the match award from Mr Rosario.
In the inaugural match, St. Savio’s SC Calangute got the better of Maina Curtorim SC via the tie-breaker.
The tournament was inaugurated by former Sesa Goa defender, Anthony Veronica Fernandes, one of the all-time great footballers of Candolim.
