Belgaum, SAG ‘B’register emphatic wins
PANJIM: Belgaum Sports Club and SAG ‘B’ team scored emphatic wins over Narmada Cricket Academy, Bharuch and SAG ‘C’ by 10 wickets and six wickets respectively in SAG Under-14 invitational league organized by Sportsweek CC and SAG at Fatorda ground.
Narmada won the toss and elected to bat. The Narmada boys found the Belgaum speedster Siddesh Kamat (3-12) too hot to handle. Nishit Patel (25), Ritesh Mishra (13) and Praful Mishra (18) helped their teams to reach 87/8 in 25 overs. Kishen Patil (1/15) and Angad Raj (2/9) also bowled well for Belgaum.
In reply, Belgaum openers Sujay Sateri (32 not out) and man-of-the-match Shivam Nesarikar (35 not out) made mincemeat of the Narmada bowling and attained the target in the 14th over.
In the second match a dramatic collapse of SAG ‘C’ from a position of 55/4 in 11 overs to 58/10 made things easy for SAG ‘B’ as they overhauled the target in the 18th over losing four wickets quickly. Man-of-the-match Hrishikesh Pednekar scalped five wickets for one run to hasten the end of SAG ‘B’ innings. Eeshan Bagchi (22 not out) and Akshay Sutar (13) batted well for SAG ‘C’.
