Sahidur wins best boxer award

MAPUSA, FEB 17 Boxers from Mapusa and Margao, excelled at 14th State Boxing Championship organised by Goa Amateur Boxing Championship at SAG stadium Panjim on Monday.

Boxers from Mapusa and Margao, excelled at 14th State Boxing Championship organised by Goa Amateur Boxing Championship at SAG stadium Panjim on Monday.
Altogether, 158 enthusiastic boxers, both boys and girls, boxed it out for four days.
In one of the most exciting bouts, Sahidur Rehman of Mapusa took on Chandan Chauhan of Chapora, and won a unanimous decision to win the best boxer of the championship award.
In the sub-juniors category, Dabol Bayadi of Margao was awarded the best boxer award, while Nehal Benaulikar of Arpora was awarded the most potential boxer award.
In the junior category, Sujit Chandra was awarded the best boxer award, and Baptist Fernandes of Saligao was awarded the most potential boxer trophy.
In the seniors category, upcoming boxer Sahidur Rehman was awarded the best boxer award and Shivam Sawant of Panjim (RCC) the most potential boxer award.
Chief Executice Officer of Reira Gorup, Daryl Pereira, and Secretary General of Goa Olympic Association, Gurudatt Bhakta gave away the prizes and awards.
