DANDO-BENAULIM: Sai Avtar Anjuna got the better of Tilamol United, Quepem 7-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 43rd Cana-Benaulim soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Friday.
Tilamol took an early lead in the third minute through Cleto Carvalho but the joy was short-lived as Sai Avtar equalised through Rohan Kambli in the 15th minute. Six minutes later, Saprem Diukar doubled the lead for SAI. Later in the 51st minute, Melroy Carvalho levelled terms for Tilamol.
In the resultant tie-breaker, SAI Avtar Anjuna netted through Diriwoh, Rohan, Nilesh Aniket and Sima while Asley, Leo, Pelly and David scored for Tilamol United, Quepem.
SAI Avtar Anjuna will now meet Goan Warriors FC, Tivim in the semi-final on June 25.
