MAPUSA: Sai Avtar Sports Club came from a goal down to hold Sodiem Siolim SC to a 1-1 draw in the GFA’s Third Division League Bardez Zone played at Vagator PYSC ground, Vagator, on Friday.
Sodiem Siolim colts took the lead in the 13th minute with Leonardo Noronha finding the back of the nylons with a right footer.
However just two minutes on crossing ends, Sai Avtar managed to level terms through their star striker Sagun Shirodkar scoring from inside the penalty box, 1-1.
At Kelbai ground, Mayem, Siddeshwar SC drubbed Sirsaim SC by 3-0 margin.
All the goals came in the second session of play through the boots of Prijesh Madkaikar, Saiel Bhamalkar and Devesh Bhamaikar.
On Thursday, BAFF registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over Valpoi SC. It was a self goal scored by Valpoi’s Rihaan Khan. At Poriat ground, Sangolda Lightning SC managed to defeat Badem United SC by 1-0 margin. The all-important goal from the winners came in the 46th minute of play through strike by Utkash Gauns.
At Moira ground, St Sebastian SC registered a well deserved 2-0 win over El Shaddai SCC. St Sebastian struck a goal in each session of play through Rohit Harijan (24th minute) and Anford Fernandes (87th minute).
At Chandor ground, St Rock YC, Majorda, registered a solitary goal win over St Anthony SC, Colva.
Irfan Lal netted the match winner for St Rock YC in the 16th minute.
On Thursday, Maina SC demolished Chandor SC 15-1 to register big win at Chandor ground. Anslem Fernandes netted seven, Draston Rebello and Edwin Sequeira scored a brace each while Caitano Vieagas, Vasudao, Josley Rebello and Tejas Harijan scored a goal each for Maina SC. The only goal for Chandor SC was scored by Austin Fernandes.
At Dando ground, Benaulim, the match between UB Dando, Colva, and St Sebastian UC ended in a 2-2 draw. Austin D’Silva and Clive Goes netted for UB Dando, Colva, while Om Raikar and Lenvy Pereira were the scorers for St Sebastian Union.
At Dramaput ground, Varca SC edged past Navelim SC 2-1. Valenton D’Souza scored a brace for Varca SC while Velroy Niasso was the scorer for Navelim SC.
