SANGOLDA: Sports Authority of India (SAI) Veterans topped the group of the All Goa SAI Super League Cup 2019 organised by Sports Authority of India Veterans Football Association after a goalless draw against Chinchinim Veterans at Sangolda ground, on Friday.
Both the teams played a defensive game.
Sports Authority of India (SAI) captained by Frankie Mascarenhas in the earlier two outings won both matches one against Viva North Veterans by 3-1 and in their second match edged past St Anna Veterans Goa Velha by a solitary goal and topped the group to become the champions of SAI Super League.
Chinchinim Veterans narrowly missed to top the league since it all finished on 7 points but with a goal average of plus 3 just like SAI, the hosts took the top spot only due to more goals scored.
Viva North Veterans who finished with 3 points with only a win was against St Anna Veterans Goa Velha had to settle for third place.
Both the teams will now face off in the final on November 30.
