PANJIM: Saksham Naik won the Ponda Taluka U-7 Open and Trusha Hammanavar won the Girls Chess Selection Tournament organized by Ponda Taluka Chess Association at Sports Complex Hall, Ponda.
A total of 30 players participated in this tournament. Amogh Namshiker was the Chief Arbiter of the tournament.
Dhruv Velingkar, Advait Barve, Narshimha Nayak, Soham Phanasekar, Avaneesh Bakhale, Rudraksh Parab and Arya Umarye got 2nd to 8th place respectively in open category.
Srilaxmi Kamat, Niveditha Jayadev, Ruthvi Gaude, Netra Sawaikar, Durva Tendulkar, Arya Shikerkar and Divya Tendulkar got 2nd to 8th place respectively in girls category.
The Chief Guest was Vishwas Prabhudessai, President, Ponda Taluka Physical Education Teachers Association.
