NAVELIM: Salcete B got the better of Salcete A 3-1 to move into the semi-finals of Dempo memorial veterans football tournament played at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
At half time, both the teams were tied 1-1.
Salcete B took the lead through Urban Fernandes in the 6th minute. However, the joy was short-lived as within six minutes Salcete A equalised through Santan.
In the second half, Salcete B controlled the pace of the match and scored the second goal through Claudio in the 46th minute. As the match progressed, in the 48th minute Charles made it 3-1 for the winners.
GFA member and GVFC life member Francisco Souza gave away the man-of-the-match award to Salcete B’s Urban.
