Sporting Clube steamroll Goa Velha Sports Club

PANJIM: Salcete Football Club scored a thrilling 4-3 win over Navelim Villagers Union in the Goa Football Associations U-16 League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Alent Colaco (9′), Frenden Pires (11′), Mark Gomes (28′) scored for Navelim Villagers Union as they led 3-0 at break.
Salcete Football Club rallied and scored four times to grab full points through Tushar Gaunkar (48′), Shendroy Costa (59′), Priston Gomindes (70′), Velancio D’Costa (75′).
In another match at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, Salgaocar Football Club thumped Ambelim Sports Club 5-1.
Aman Rajbhar opened the scoring in the 8th minute and soon doubled the lead in the 9th minute through Antush Moniz.
Ansten Furtado (28′) netted for the young Green Brigadiers before the teams went into the breather.
Post resumption, Rohan Viegas netted in the 49th minute to take the tally to 4-0.
Roy D’Silva pulled a goal. Back for the struggling Ambelim side in the 59th minute before Jobern Cardozo drive the final nail into the coffin to make it 5-1 in the 69th minute.
Elsewhere at Don Bosco ground, Sporring Clube de Goa defeated Goa Velha Sports Club 9-1.
Anthony Fernandes (2′, 22′, 29′, 77′), Pandurang Gawas (5′, 28′) Rahul Halnalkar (8′), Joseph D’Souza (58′), Rio Fernandes (80′) scored for the winners while Lokendra Thapa (12′) was the lone scorer for Goa Velha SC.
Sesa FA defeated PVC Parra 4-1, at PVC Parra ground.
Ruben Castellino (34′), Omkar Shetgaokar (55′), Frazer Viegas (64′), Silroy Pereira (70′). scored for Sesa FA while Shaheel Shaikh (79′) scored a consolation goal for the home side.
