PANJIM: Salcete Football Club ran riot over Rossman Cruz Nagoa with an 8-0 win in the Goa Football Association U-14 League Second Division League at Astro Turf ground, Margao on Monday.
The team had five different scorers as Sheadon Rodrigues scored a fine hat-trick for the winning side. Kenan Fernandes netted a brace while Sam Moira, Pio Gomendes and Adson Gomes netted a goal each for Salcete FC.
Rossman Cruz managed to hold their opponents in the first half as Salcete FC took the lead at the half hour mark and the score was just 1-0 with remaining seven goals coming in the second half of the session.
Penha de Franca scored a comfortable 4-0 win over El Shaddai SCC at Duler Stadium,Mapusa
Nitesh Kavlekar scored a brace for the winners while Vardhan Govekar and Imran Shaikh netted a goal each for the winning side.
In another match at Cavelossim ground, Pax of Nagoa scored a 2-1 win over Cana Benaulim.
Morgon Da Cruz netted the first at the half hour mark for Pax of Nagoa. Cana Benaulim levelled terms in the second half in the 55th minute through Banapaui Rao. However, Nagoa scored the match-winner at the hour mark through adrian Fernandes.
In another match at Quepem ground, UB Benaulim scored a resounding 9-0 win over Sarzora Sports Club.
Likson Rebello scored quadruple while Reinford D’Costa and Xavier Rebelo scored a brace. Blyton Fernandes was the other goal scorer for the winning team.
At Ambelim ground, Tilamola United Sports Club eased past Youth Welfare Sports Club Assolna 5-1.
Danier Fernandes, Gerito Fernandes, Slowan Clemente, Maerick Peixoto and Arhan Shaikh scored a goal each for the winning team while Tanish Simoes pulled a goal back for the losing side.
