PANJIM: The suspense over Salgaocar FC’s participation in the Goa Professional League (GPL) 2023-24, deepened further on Tuesday with the club confirming participation in the GFA’s Under-13 and Under-15 events.
Salgaocar are yet to renew their participation in GPL and their fate would finally depend on the decision to be taken by the Executive Committee which has now floated an Invitation to Bid for teams seeking direct entry for GPL.
Clubs under the Societies Act 1860 will have a minimum bid of Rs 30 lakh while the second category for clubs registered under Companies Act 2014 the bid amount is Rs 50 lakh. Corporates from outside Goa can also tie up with local clubs in Goa and table a bid. There have been strong rumours that Pax of Nagoa may seek a direct entry into GPL.
