CANSAULIM: Salgaocar FC overpowered Sporting Clube de Goa to top the group in style in their GFA U-16 encounter, at Cansaulim ground, on Thursday.
In the 4th minute when defender Kyle D’Cruz sent in a long ball from the defence to Samward Pereira who controlled the ball beautifully and finished in style taking the Greens in front.
Sporting found the equaliser through Rohit Tutad in the 20th minute.
On resumption of play, Aman Rajbhar put a lofted cross to Aaron Bareto who blasted the ball as he received itto take the lead.
As it all seemed done and dusted for Sporting, Salgaocar FC’s Sevon Costa drove the last nail into the coffin with a thunderous strike from 50 yards, which rattled the inside of the crossbar ato make it 3-1.
