PANJIM: Salgaocar FC and Sporting Clube de Goa shared the spoils in a goalless draw in the All India Football Federation Sub Junior Football Championship, held at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, on Sunday.
Playing at their fortress, Sporting Clube de Goa played on attacking front from the first whistle and managed to score early in the game when Mervin headed in a Jwel’s free-kick.
Sporting Clube de Goa were deadly on their counter attack, however, their poor finishing led them to just one-goal lead at the break.
Crossing over, Salgaocar FC equalised through Ashony Gomes in the 49th minute.
Sporting Clube de Goa twice came close to scoring but a strong goalkeeping from Salgaocar FC custodian denied them clear cut chances.
