At half time, the score was tied 1-1 with Philip Parvis putting Taleigao ahead in the fourth minute with a firm grounder after being put through by Newton Azavedo.
Prathamesh Shirodkar got Salgaocar on level terms in the 36th minute with an excellent free-kick which curled into the far corner with the keeper rooted to his spot.
In between Salgaocar had a chance through substitute Fhezer Gomes whose strong header was pushed over the bar by keeper Savio Pereira.
Philip should have made it 2-1 for Taleigao in the 38th minute but his placement shot was off target from close range.
Changing ends, Salgaocar showed more urgency pumping in five goals with U-20 Fhezer Gomes stealing the limelight with a hat-trick when he found the back of the net in the 48th, 60th and 83rd minutes with Valentino Nazareth and Shawn Pereira completing the rout.
Substitute Sachin Shirvoikar scored the consolation goal for Taleigao in the added time with a cracking grounder which had no answer by the keeper, 6-2.
Salgaocar’s Fhezer Gomes received the man-of-the-match award from Babli Mandrekar-GFA’s executive member.
