VASCO: Salgaocar fresh from their goalless draw against title aspirants Churchill Brothers will look to keep up the momentum when they play Prayag United FC in a 23rd round I-league encounter tomorrow at Tilak Stadium here at 6.30 p.m.

It will be the home match for Salgaocar which will be played under floodlights for the first time in Vasco and the hosts are expected to go all out to record a victory. They are 10th with a tally of 24 points from 22 matches, but have not looked very impressive so far, although they managed a draw against formidable Churchill Bros in their last outing.

Prayag are upbeat after holding East Bengal. They have collected 35 points from 22 matches and are placed fifth.

Salgaocar coach David Booth has a full complement of players except for Gabriel Obatola who is out due to a double booking. Strikers Josimar Da Silva and Milagres will be back after serving suspensions.

Carlos Hernandes and Ranty Martins who helped Prayag United to hold East Bengal will be the main threat to the home side.

Salgaocar Technical Director, Peter Valles said, “The boys are looking good after their draw against Churchill Brothers. We have the advantage of playing at our home town as we expect more fans to cheer us. We had drawn against the visitors in our away match when we had our chances but could not grab them, and we are looking for a win tomorrow which is important as it will keep us clear of the relegation zone.”

We did well against Prayag in the away clash. We had our chances towards the end too but could not grab it,” said the Technical Director.

Prayag United have given up on the title and are now playing, at best, for the third spot with just four matches in hand. Eeclo Schattorie’s men will be on a high after dashing, to a large extent, East Bengal’s title hopes with a 2-2 draw. Prayag United were down by two goals until Ranty Martins and Carlos Hernandez turned the match on its head.

Meanwhile, tickets for the matches will be available at GFA’s offices in Panjim and Margao till 12 noon and at Tilak Maidan after 12 noon on the days of the matches.
