Salgaocar, Sarvodaya up

PANJIM: Salgaocar Sports Club and Sarvoday Royals won their respective matches, in Goa Professional League T20 cricket tournament, organized by Goa Cricket Association (GCA), at GCA Academy ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.

PANJIM: Salgaocar Sports Club and Sarvoday Royals won their respective matches, in Goa Professional League T20 cricket tournament, organized by Goa Cricket Association (GCA), at GCA Academy ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
In the first match, Salgaocar thumped Dempo Cricket Club by 45 runs. 
Dempo won the toss and elected to bowl first while their opponents posted 162/7 in the allotted overs. Amogh Desai (57) and Keenan Vaz (54) top scored. Vision Panchal claimed four wickets.
In reply, Dempo were bowled out for 117 in the 18.4 overs. Kuldeep Diwan claimed five wickets while Somsingh Rawal picked up three wickets. 
In the second match, Sarvodaya Royals got the better of Chowgule Warriors by seven wickets.
Chowgule Warriors won the toss and batted first. They managed a respectable 151/7 with a blazing 47 not out by Darshan Misal.
 However, Sarvodaya Royals were inspired by a fine unbeaten 65 by Ryan D’souza. He was well supported by Shabuddin Syed (55). They finished with 155/3 in 16.4 overs.
On Thursday, Caculo Goans face Sarvodaya Royals, at 2 p.m., while Salgaocar take on Chowgule Warriros in the seconf match, at 6.30 p.m.
