FATORDA: Ronaldo Oliveira’s hat-trick once again helped Salgaocar FC (jrs) as they displayed a five-star performance against Cuncolim Union beating them 5-0 in the Geno First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Friday.
The star player for the Green Brigade, Ronaldo Oliveira gave his side the desired lead in the game in the first minute itself as he eased past the Cuncolim defence and shot into the post amidst a blank custodian.
Before the Cuncolim side could recover from this early goal, Ronaldo made it 2-0 in the 4th minute as the Cuncolim back-line was left in a total dismay.
The game was completely dominated by the Salgaocar Club side as they went out all in attack in search of more goals which resulted in the Cuncolim side being pushed back in the entire session.
Chaitan Komarprant made it 3-0 just before half time as they went into the break with a comfortable lead.
In the second half, nothing seemed to have changed as Arif Pathan made it 4-0 in the 51st minute.
Cuncolim Union showed signs of improvement as they tried to get back into the game as Necil Pinto almost scored but his shot from the top of the box hit the bar.
Later, Ronaldo Oliveira went on to complete his hat-trick in the 84th minute as the Salgaocar side gained complete possession of the game which was evident onto the score sheet.
With this win, the Green Brigade have inched closer to the top with 28 points while the Cuncolim side have 21 points.
