PANJIM: Two goals in the last seven minutes gave Salgaocar FC a 2-0 victory over Sporting Clube de Goa Jrs in an AIFF I-League under-20 football match at Jamshedpur, Monday.

Sporting had several key players out due to injury including captain Mario Lobo (hamstring), Charles Cardoz (calf) and Jyotesh Palkar (finger).

In the first session Sporting came close to scoring, but Xavier Dias and Vikrham Singh were denied by the rival custodian. Moments later, Sporting Goa’s Jesus Estrocio headed wide.

In the final seven minutes, Salgaocar’s Raymond Fernandes’ shot came back of the post, but Mario Fernandes soon followed up with a powerful placement to score.

In the 89th minute Sporting failed to clear the ball allowing Raymond to shoot in from close and double the lead.

The Flaming Oranje Juniors finished their campaign with two points from four games.
