Salgaocar Veterans moved into the finals of all-Goa Diogo Vaz memorial
veterans football tournament organised by Don Bosco:Past Pupils Association
(Panjim) beating Raia Veterans 3-1 at Don Bosco school ground, here on
Tuesday.
Lawrence Menezes put Salgaocar Veterans ahead of a pass from Dereck Pereira
in the 3rd minute. Salgaocar consolidated the lead through Lawrence in the 31st
minute and Dereck Pereira scored the third off a solo move in the 35th minute.
Raia pulled one back off a spot kick in the 48th minute which was converted by
Menino Miranda.
Nicholas Fernandes was the chief guest and gave the prizes. Dereck Pereira of
Salgaocar and Santan Furtado of Raia were rewarded for their outstanding play.
