PANJIM: Saligao Sparx emerged champions of the Goa’s first women’s 3-a-side football tournament, organised by organised by KJs and Sonics Basketball Club, held at the Youth Hostel. Saligao Sparx thrashed Margao Marauders, 6-1, in the final with Sarah Hussain leading the team and emerging the highest scorer of the tournament.
In the match for 3rd place, Miramar Queens trumped Siolim Wildcats with 8-3 margin.
Earlier in the first semifinals, Saligao Sparx crushed Siolim Wildcats, 8-2, w hile in the second semifinal, Margao Marauders and Miramar Queens went neck to neck, with Margao Marauders ultimately scoring a winning goal before the buzzer, and finishing 5-4.
