MAPUSA: Saligao Sporting Club thrashed Siolim Sodiem 3-0 in a GFA Second Division football league match at Sangolda ground, Saturday. The score was 1-0 at half time.
Saligao started on an attacking note and surged ahead through Abhijit Gaonakar’s powerful shot that beat the rival goalkeeper.
In the second session, Abhijit scored his brace with a solo effort and Rahul D’ Mello ended the third in the dying minutes with his rasping shot.
Saligao have collected 10 points from six matches while Siolim are on six points from same number of matches with two games remaining.
Meanwhile, clubs are facing problems following the transfers of players in the first division league which is set to commence shortly even as the third division final and second division league are yet to conclude.
