Sangolda Lightning top group, Holy Cross Arambol edge past Peddem Bomm, Xetrapal drub FC Siolim

MAPUSA/RAIA: Sangolda Lightning SC huffed and puffed to get the better of Nerul SC by 4-2 margin in the GFA’s Third Division League Bardez Zone played at Duler Stadium, here, on Saturday.

Sangolda Lightning went into the breather with a 2-1 lead. It was Macbert Fernandes who put his team ahead in the very 5th minute beating Nerul keeper with a neat placement, 1-0. However, Nerul fought back to level terms in the 26th minute through the boots of Mahadev Naik, 1-1. Just three minutes later, Shivam Pandev once again put Sangolda ahead, 2-1.

On crossing over, Rakesh Samal and Tarak Khandolkar scored two goals for Sangolda Lightning colts while Sainath Kalangutkar managed to score the second goal for Nerul unit.

At Guirim ground, Holy Cross Arambol managed to edge past Peddem Bomm SC by 2-1 margin. It was Peddem Bomm who opened their account through Umesh Mainkar strike, only to find Christie Alfonso find the equaliser for Arambol unit, 1-1. On crossing over, Creniel Fernandes scored the match winning goal for Arambol colts.

At Vagator PYSC ground, Xetrapal SC had an easy outing as they drubbed Football Club Siolim by 5-1 margin. Manthan Jivaji, Vishank Dhargalkar, Chandrakant (2) and Sajal Chodankar scored for Xetrapal. Sudhin

Shirodkar scored the consolatioazn goal for Siolim colts, 5-1. Salcete Zone: At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, South Goa United defeated Margao SC 5-1 to register win.  Aiden Dias and Gaurav Bhandari scored a brace each while Felix Varghese was the other scorer for South Goa United. The only goal for Margao SC was netted by Roiston Gomes.
