THIVIM: In a thrilling final, Sanij 7 beat Sal de Goa, 2-1 via the tie-breaker to emerge winners of the 15th Annual All Goa 7-a-side football tournament organized by Thivim Football Club, at Thivim panchayat ground, on Sunday.
The match was a very closely contested one which saw both the sides trying to establish control in the midfield.
At the end of regulation time, both the teams were locked in a goalless draw forcing the contest to be decided on penalties where Sanij 7 proved to be better shooters.
The winners were awarded Rs 50,000 along with a trophy while the runners-up took home Rs 30,000.
Chief guest Jennifer Gomes congratulated the teams and wished them to play with team spirit in the presence of Omkar Vaigankar, President of Thivim FC, Nesty D’Souza and Vice-President Lonal D’Souza.
