PANJIM: Sanjay Gaude finished first in the Bori Mountain Run 2018 which was organised by the Friend Group of Borim Charitable Trust which was held recently .
Renny Straussan of Germany came in second place while Zandu Shah came third in the 15 km run. The mountain run was held at Bori with the Siddhanath temple being marked as the halfway mark (Mountain which is 1250 ft high from sea level).
In the 5km competition, Vinod Gaunkar won the first place while Vikram Paswan came in second and Lakshmikant Gaude settled for the third prize.
In the women’s category, Melviya Rebelo won in the 5 kms category while the first runner-up was Janhavi Borkar and Pari Lavande came in third place.
In the 15 km, Ankita Palekar came first followed by a French competitor named Essertin while a German nationality Angela Straussani came in third.
In the 15 km (50-year above category) Viswanath Shetty won first place followed by Manoj Patel who was the first runner-up, and Satish Gavandalkar finished third. The oldest participant was German contender, Kende Pantrick who was felicitated.
In the 5 km (50-year above category), Sheikh Narullah finished in first place, while Joseph Dcosta came in second place followed by Guru Parpati.
The event was flagged off by Manisha Pai and Ugam Parsekar of Mudra Prathishtan along with panch member Tukaram Borkar and entrepreneur Nilesh Gaonkar.
Also present at the event were Ratish Pawar and Meghana Keni. President Durgaprasad Ramanand along with secretary Jayesh Naik, Sameer Shinde and all the trustees.
A total of 720 participants participated in the competition and successfully completed the race.
