DAMON-RAIA: Our Lady of Rosary High School Fatorda defeated Saviour of the World High School Loutolim with a narrow 1-0 win to enter the final of the 4th editionof the Fr Peter SVD memorial football tournament, organised by SVD Mission Seminary in association with SVD Friends Association at SVD Seminary ground, Damon Raia, on Tuesday.
Rosary coach Rohan Colaco gave extra task to Amar R Honarbarathi while Saviour’s coach Albert Pinheiro gave extra task to Crisbern DSouza. However, it was Sansiyo Furtado who scored for Rosary with a placement shot in the tenth minute. Sansiyo Furtado was set up by Amar in the box before the latter made the initial spade work.
Saviour of the World HS had a chance to level terms but Crisbern Furtado, with only the keeper at his mercy, shot wide.
Saviour of the World second half substitute Sebastian Fernandes created many chances for his side with his pace and trickery but the team couldn’t get past Rosary HS defence.
Saviour of the World HS’s Monif Sanchez bagged the Man-of-the-Match award.
