PEDDA-VARCA: Sao Jose de Areal got the better of Chandor Club 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Varca Village panchayat soccer, at Varca sports club ground, on Monday.
Chandor’s Mario Noronha missed the first best chance to score in the fourth minute.
Later in the tenth minute, Ignatius Oliveira opened the score-line for Areal with a placement shot.
As the match progressed in the second half, substitute Welson Fernandes pulled a goal back for Chandor in the 48th minute.
Areal further inflated the lead through Alvito Moura by netting two more goals in the 51st and 60th minutes respectively
