POVASAO-CURTORIM: Sao Jose de Areal shot-out Parish Youth Nuvem 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the 31st Curtorim Panchayat Cup, organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, at DSYA ground, on Tuesday.
Nuvem had their best chance in the third minute when Swindon D’Silva crossed the ball to Denikson Dias who failed to score from close range. Seventeen minutes later, Areal’s Monty Valadares’ shot hit the Nuvem post and went out of play.
In second half, Areal’s Fredric Endro’s powerful shot was well saved by Nuvem keeper Mackvino Colaco in 40th minute.
The match ended 0-0 at the end of regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Sao Jose Areal scored through Joseph, Monty, Fredric and Listen, while Nuvem scored through Nicolau, Denikson and Alvito.
Parish Youth Nuvem Denikson Dias was awarded the man-of-the-match by Anthony Pango (Vice president GFA).
