MAPUSA: Chowgule Warriors booked their berth in the Super League with a six wicket win over Sarvoday Royals in the sixth match of Goa Premier League cricket tournament organized by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at GCA ground, Porvorim, Saturday.
It was an important tie for Sarvodaya Royals after losing their first match against Geno SC. Batting first, Sarvodaya set up a respectable 148 runs. Captain Robin D’Souza inspired his team with an unbeaten 52 runs after Shrikant Munde had done much of the damage, picking up three important wickets.
The Chowgule Warriors remained cool and composed with the rock-solid opening partnership of Sumiran Amonkar and Asad Pathan before the former was bowled by Varun Sood when the score was 70. Soon, Asad fooled his teammate to the dressing room but Reagan Pinto’s unbeaten 37 saw the Warriros chase the total with two overs and six wickets in hand. Munde was adjudged man-of-the-match.
